Sitting proudly in the drivers seat, is Steve’s Grandfather, Sadakusa Enomoto in 1906. Steve’s other Grandfather, Unosuko Oku, came to the US in 1890. This was their first shipment of California flowers east of the Rocky Mts. in 1913. Currently in its 5th generation, the company was originally founded in Mountain View, Ca in 1902 and has been in Pescadero since 1962. The Oku Family takes great pride in growing the best lettuce possible. Our greenhouses protect the crop from insects, diseases and other problems that have caused field lettuce to be recalled.
